QSES VOLUNTEERS
National Organisation
The QSES forms a part of the national organisation of volunteers who are unpaid and volunteer their time 24/7 to respond to emergencies and disasters for their communities with a specific focus on our most vulnerable.
Foundation
The QSES is designed to empower people to help themselves and others in their communities in times of emergency and disaster. The basic concept is one of self-help and mutual assistance.
Maintaining a Balance
As a community organisation the QSES must balance their services between:
- actual emergency response to those most in need
- requests that may inadvertantly remove services that should
otherwise be provided by local businesses.
Help others by helping yourself. A resilient community
frees QSES resources to go where they are most needed.
